I am running for State Senate in Legislative District 25 because I believe our community deserves leadership rooted in listening, compassion, and action. Too often, decisions are made without the voices of everyday people being heard. I’m committed to changing that.
I have dedicated myself to these issues through my lived experience as a counselor and through direct work in some of the most challenging systems people face. My history includes working in homeless outreach, managing the men’s overflow shelter at Central Arizona Shelter Services, and serving as a counselor at Towers Jail, where I gained firsthand exposure to incarceration and systemic inequities. I have also overseen crisis teams in Globe and Payson, AZ, while working for Community Bridges, and have worked in psychiatric hospitals, supporting individuals in crisis, as well as directly with insurance companies and claims doing utilization management, where I saw the barriers providers and clients face when care decisions are dictated by profit rather than need. These combined experiences have given me a clear understanding of how housing, healthcare, education, mental health, and criminal justice intersect, and they have strengthened my commitment to creating systemic reform so that dignity, opportunity, and care are accessible to all.
The progressive change I want to be part of is rooted in justice, equity, and human dignity. My vision is for communities where every person has the opportunity not only to survive but to thrive — without barriers created by discrimination, inequality, or systemic neglect.
I am committed to:
Water Security – Invest in reliable water infrastructure for families, farmers, and future generations.
Education – Fund public schools, reduce class sizes, support teachers, teach mental health coping skills, provide comprehensive sex education, free lunches, and resist harmful voucher policies.
Affordable Housing & Infrastructure – Expand affordable housing, support smart growth, improve roads, water, transit, and build low-income housing with wraparound services.
Immigration & Border Policy – Ensure humane border security, end family separation, and support pathways to citizenship.
Health Care & Public Health – Expand access to care, maternal and mental health services, telehealth, and pandemic preparedness.
Economic Opportunity & Cost of Living – Increase wages, attract industries, support small businesses, and ease financial pressures for working families.
Voting Rights & Election Integrity – Protect fair elections, end gerrymandering, expand early and mail-in voting, and fight misinformation.
Racial & Social Equity – Confront systemic racism, promote justice reform, and protect equality in education, housing, and healthcare.
Women’s Rights & Bodily Autonomy – Protect reproductive rights, ensure pay equity, fund women’s health research, provide free period products, and advance workplace protections.
LGBTQIA+ Protections – Strengthen anti-discrimination policies in schools, workplaces, healthcare, and housing.
Environmental Protection & Climate Action – Invest in clean energy, protect public lands, and create green jobs.
Government Ethics & Transparency – Enforce accountability, prevent conflicts of interest, and ensure responsible use of taxpayer funds.
Student Loan & Homeownership Support – Forgive student debt, make higher education affordable, and help young people and families buy their first homes.
Corporate & Workplace Equity – Limit corporate pay disparities, reduce administrative burdens on health professionals, and protect fair wages and working conditions.
Health Insurance Reform – Ensure insurers cannot control patient care, guarantee timely and full payments to providers, and prevent retroactive fee reductions.
Fair Taxation – Increase taxes on the wealthy and corporations, reduce the burden on low- and middle-income families.
Combat Disinformation – Hold media and platforms accountable for false information while protecting free speech.
Safety & Unity – Protect peaceful protest, invest in community safety, reduce political polarization, and regulate AI responsibly to serve workers and the public good.
