I come from five generations of farmers and ranchers. I grew up on wildlife refuges surrounded by open skies, winding rivers, and people who understood how deeply connected we are to the land and to each other. That same sense of duty and compassion guided me into a career in mental health, where I've sat with people in their darkest moments and seen how powerful it can be when government actually works for the people it serves.
